The once upon a time heart-throb of Kollywood is all set to make a comeback to Bollywood
Arvind Swamy, who had disappeared from Bollywood is all set to make a comeback to Hindi films after 14 long years. Arvind’s last Hindi film was 1998 release Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya, after which he shifted his focus to his business venture.
Swamy was already a star down south, but his daring role in 1995 release Bombay not only got him famous in Bollywood, but also got him a Prime Minister’s National Integration Award.
Arvind is being brought back to Bollywood by Mahesh Manjrekar. He will be paired opposite Tisca Chopra in the remake of Manjrekar’s Marathi hit, Kaksparsh.
“I decided to remake Kaksparsh because I wanted it to reach a national audience. It will be made in Hindi and Tamil. The film has a Tamil cultural backdrop. That’s why I chose to remake the film in that language as well,”, Mahesh was quoted by a leading daily.
We wonder if Arvind will be able to create that magic which he created in his earlier movies. After all, the star does look quite different from what we saw him 14 years ago. Well, let’s wait and watch…
