The makers of the heist drama reveal the first song of the film sung by Bappi Lahiri
As we tune in to the song for the first time with high expectations from none other than the original disco king of Bollywood, Bappi Lahiri, we were more than amazed with what we heard! The song Dhar pakad from Special 26, directed by Neeraj Pandey, begins with Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar revealing their fake identity as CBI cops and duping several people by conducting income tax raids. The real CBI officer Manoj Bajpayee is seen highly pissed off with the hazardous consequences posed by the fake officers, as he orders his men to investigate.
Composed by MM Kreem and beautifully penned by Irshad Kamil, Dhar pakad comes across as another fun number from the Ooh la la singer. The fun lyrics like – Kaun original sab kuch copy, yeh zindagi aapa dhaapi and jaate chor ki pakad langoti, har ek daud ka maksad roti, instantly reminds us of his notable number from the Nana Patekar-John Abraham starrer Taxi No. 9211. Must say, it’s quite some time since we heard a hatke number. But considering it’s a fast-paced heist drama, we wonder if the film has much scope as far as the music is concerned. Have a look and tell us if you like the song!
