That was the rumour a couple of days ago, but now there seems to be a new twist in the tale
Sriti Jha was reportedly all set to step into the shoes of Pratyusha Banerjee in Balika Vadhu ‘coz as per the buzz, Ms Banerjee wanted to bid adieu to the show for a meaty Bollywood offer. But now, the gossip mills have now churned out a different version of this news altogether. It seems that Sriti Jha will not be taking the main lead’s place on the show. In fact, she will be playing Jagya’s (Shashank Vyas) love interest, who is also a victim of child marriage. But unlike Anandi, she doesn’t get the support of her loved ones. She has to deal with the parochial mindset of people, without any help. We are waiting to see how Jagya and Sriti bump into each other. And also, the makers perhaps think that this is the right time to introduce a new girl in Jagya’s life as he is a much better person now after all that introspection and moments of self-discovery.
Sriti Jha is no rookie; she has worked in shows like Jyoti on NDTV Imagine and Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava on Life Ok. Quite a mature actor and a performer par excellence, we await her dhamakedaar entry into this popular soap.
