Subhash Ghai postpones Kaanchi’s release to avoid clash with Chennai Express and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again

The showman has decided to push forward the release date of his love story from August 15 to 30 to evade tough competition from the two big films releasing on Eid

With heavy rush of big releases in August, Subhash Ghai has postponed the release date of his forthcoming love story. “I wanted to release it on August 15 because of a patriotic flavor to the love story of Kaanchi. Since there are two big releases on Eid – Shahrukh’s Chennai Express and Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again, the single screens will be playing them for two weeks, plus there are two other releases on 23rd, so I decided to settle for August 30 as Kaanchi being a mass as well as class film will need multiplex and single screens both,” said Ghai.

The Yuvvraaj director, who’s presently filming Kaanchi with new star cast and veteran actors’ Mithun Chakraborty and Rishi Kapoor after four years said he’s too excited with this film. “The new cast has given me a huge responsibility as well as happiness as good as when I was making Hero and Karma,” said the filmmaker and added, “I know people are waiting for a big film from me with wholesome entertainment. Kaanchi has a great story with a message, fun and drama combined with great music to cherish. Ismail Darbar has recorded four songs and lyrics are done by Irshad Kamil. I can say that it’s going to be a big blockbuster album on the day it will be released. My new heroine Mishti has done a fantastic job. It’s larger than life film and I am waiting for 30th August to show my creation to my audience.”

We too are eagerly waiting to see Kaanchi, Mr Ghai! Wish you all the luck!
