The successful filmmaker is all set to direct again after a long time. This time, he is making a romantic comedy with his son as the lead
Suneel Darshan, who has a repertoire of hit films to his credit like Ek Rishtaa: A Bond of Love starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar and Andaaz starring Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra, is back from a six year sabbatical to give his young son Shiv a grand entry into Bollywood.
Shiv Darshan (what a holy name!) is all set to face the camera in his father’s new rom-com, Karle Pyar Karle. The young actor, who studied in acting and dancing schools in New York says, “Though I have not assisted anybody, I have a sound knowledge of filmmaking and that has helped me as an actor. I’m passionate about cinema and feel privileged to be part of the film industry.”
His fond father is naturally more than excited. “My absence all these years was intentional. I needed a reason and motivation to make a film, and here I am launching my son in my next film. I’ve been associated with many superstars and I know Shiv has it in him to make it. I’m very sure about Shiv, because a top filmmaker has also shown interest in working with my son.”
Though the heroine has already been finalised, Suneel doesn’t want to reveal her name just yet; there will be a big announcement soon when she’s introduced to the media. The shooting of the film started on February 10 with a 40-day schedule, during which major portions are to be shot in Lavasa, Pune and Mumbai. Here’s wishing Shiv and his dad Suneel a fruitful launch and a rocking career!
