Sunil Grover continues to play Gutthi despite a legal notice from Viacom 18!

Sunil Grover

The funny man is still acting as the ever-so-delightful character he made so memorable in Comedy Nights with Kapil. Does this mean he will be back on Kapil Sharma’s show? Find out!

When Sunil Grover, who played one of the most likeable characters (Gutthi) in Kapil Sharma‘s popular comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil (CNWK) decided to call it quits, little did he think that he would never play the now-iconic character ever again! Viacom 18 (the makers of CNWK) decided to have the comic ‘lady’ copyrighted before any rival channel or production house could copy the act. This move by the producers came right after reports of Sunil being offered a show by a rival channel started doing the rounds.

But it looks like Sunil is not taking this legal notice too seriously. Why do we say so, you ask? Simple – Sunil was at an event recently where he was seen doing his very funny Gutthi act. Baba Ramdev was present at the same event and needless to say, he broke into guffaws thanks to Gutthi’s antics.

Well, we just hope that we see Sunil as Gutthi again on TV, rather than at these rather unsuitable events. After all, the integrity of acting needs to be greater than the lure of money, hai na?Subscribe to me on YouTube

Stupid, character Gutthi was created on Sony’s Comedy Circus for Sunil Grover. Comedy Circus has created hundreds of such characters in the last few years. Sunil Grover and Kapil moved to Colors along with various characters like Gutthi. Get your facts right before broadcasting your mohalla-type reporting on the internet.

Sunil gotta admit that it was comedy nights that got him any recognition.
Guthi in any other show would’ve been a man acting a woman’s role. The
way comedy nights writers were able to package this character along with
Palak made all the difference. I have never even noticed Grover; he is
not at par with the likes of Kapil, Krishna, Sudesh, Bharti and others.

BTW, Kapil I feel is the best comedian, although I never cared for his color based jokes and drooling on white skin.
