Sunny Deol gets in touch with his romantic side

After basking in the success of Yamla Pagla Deewana, Sunny Deol will be seen in an all new romantic avatar

Sunny Deol is popular for his heavy duty dhai kilo ka haath-type dialogues, but now the 40-plus actor is planning to take a temporary detour and get in touch with his romantic side. His next film is I Love New Year, a romantic comedy with the much younger Kangna Ranaut. If his peers like Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor can do it, then so can he, right? The film will be directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao, who made Lucky: No Time for Love with Salman Khan a few years ago. Sunny will get rid of his macho side and play a softie in this rom-com that unfolds in a span of two days and is set in New York City. Despite a strong action hero image, dad Dharmendra has dabbled with this genre several times in his heydays (remember Professor Parimal Tripathi in Chupke Chupke?), but it’s a first of sorts for son Sunny. If you remember, Sunny Deol had attempted an out-and-out romantic film as an actor and director with Dillagi alongside his brother Bobby Deol and Urmila Matondkar. But unfortunately that one sunk at the box office. Let’s hope this time around, Sunny gets lucky with love.
