After granting bail to the aspiring actor today, the court now states that Pancholi can’t be held solely accountable for Jiah’s suicide….
Looks like things are turning in Suraj Pancholi’s favour. Post the Bombay High Court granting bail to the prime accused in the Jiah Khan suicide case, more major relief comes to Pancholi in the form of a statement from Justice Sadhna Jadhav – “It was an unfortunate incident that a young girl (Jiah) has committed suicide. She must have been impulsive and he (Suraj) cannot be held solely responsible for it.”
The 22-year-old wannabe actor has been granted bail on a surety of Rs 50,000 and the court has directed him to surrender his passport and appear before the Juhu police every alternate day. The Bombay High Court also observed that the letter recovered from Jiah’s house could not be taken as a suicide note, as it is not addressed to anyone and is not dated. “Hence, it cannot be said that the emotions expressed in the letter ever reached the applicant,” Jadhav said.
The court also held that Suraj never nurtured any intent to push Jiah to commit suicide. “She was in the relationship by her own choice. It cannot be ignored that Jiah had suicidal tendencies. Earlier also she had attempted suicide and it was the applicant who took care of her,” Jadhav stated, adding that the deceased’s mother Rabiya Amin Khan was not aware of this.
