The Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor film enters the Rs 100-crore club of Bollywood

Aamir Khan-starrer suspense thriller Taalash has made it to the Rs 100 crore club. The film has raked in Rs 131.78 crore worldwide. Directed by Reema Kagti and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertaiment and Aamir Khan Productions, the murder mystery earned Rs 85.38 crore at the domestic box office within 13 days of its release, November 30.

The film has grossed Rs 46.40 crore overseas. Talaash also features Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles.

It was made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, and released across 2,500 screens. Its satellite rights were sold for Rs 40 crore.

    It’s no big a deal, actually. When you have 3 brilliant actors – Aamir, Rani and Kareena, the movie jolly-well cross the 100 crore mark. A commercially successful movie does not just depend on the story but definitely on star power. Unless the movie is a woman centric film or doesn’t involve any huge male star AND YET manages to cross the 100 crore mark, would it then be brilliant news.

    That being said, Talaash was thoroughly entertaining.

    100 crore club= 100 crore domestic gross. Doesn’t include overseas earnings. So technically Talaash hasn’t crossed the 100-crore mark yet :(
