The 3rd BollywoodLife Awards: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha or Vidya Balan – Who is the Auntyji of the year?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha or Vidya Balan – Who is the Auntyji of the year?

There is no doubt that Ash, Vids, Sona, Huma Qureshi and Madhuri Dixit-Nene are all good looking actors. But the problem with these B-town ladies is that more often than not they stun us speechless with their not-so-flattering fashion sense

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been tagged as the most beautiful woman in the world, a title that has gone far beyond the crown she won so many years ago. Her blue eyes and glowing skin sure make us go green with envy and at one point her style did too. But after becoming a mother, the Devdas actor seems to have stopped caring about herself and what she wears. We are happy that she is giving all her time and energy to her little angel Aaradhya Bachchan, but if she is planning to make a comeback to movies, she sure needs to look good… at least at social dos, hai na? And that goes for Vidya Balan as well. It seems marriage has taken a toll on the Kahaani babe’s schedule – her wardrobe, which never seemed to matter much to her, has taken a serious hit. As for Sonakshi Sinha, we don’t blame her for anything, coz she has never impressed us hugely with her style. But that’s shocking considering the fact that she wanted to be a fashion designer and was trained to be one. As for Madhuri Dixit Nene and Huma Qureshi…it’s rare when either of the two gets it right when it comes to fashion. So for us, these lovely ladies are the epitome of the Auntyji. Which wins the award for the best…or worst offender? You tell us…

Vidya Balan – She is talented, pretty and can carry off a saree with great élan. But when Vidya is not draped in her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s creations, her style goes completely off track. And that has been happening often after her wedding to Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Remember that red Vaishali S outfit she wore to the Ranka Jewellers press conference? We are still in shock.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – The former Miss World has always been looked at as a fashion icon. But marriage, a child and the pressure of being a Bachchan bahu seem to have got the better of her, style wise. And though recently she has been turning heads with her appearances, we just can’t see that spark in her any more. Her anarkalis are lovely and elegant, but stereotyped and boring now. An occasional stunning gown would work better if she was back in her pre-baby shape, for which there is still a little way to go. Age-appropriate dressing does not need to be dowdy, no?

Sonakshi Sinha – We get straight to the point with this B-town babe. She has never really wowed us with her style, so we won’t say she has let us down. But isn’t it high time that Sona got a makeover and shed her village belle girl image? We are tired criticising her and we know she can do it, weight or no weight. We really want to write something good about her fashion.

Madhuri Dixit Nene – The dhak dhak girl finds a place on this list for the same reason that Ash does. Mads does get it right with her sarees and anarkalis, but could do far better, less old fashioned and blah. The heavy desi garments do make her look older, drowning that stunning smile with all that fabric and jhakmak embellishment. Simplicity and avant garde could suit this lovely lady, wethinks!

Huma Qureshi – This starlet really has a knack for choosing fashion disasters. And with her being rather well rounded, her outfits don’t make her look any younger. The Gangs of Wasseypur actor is just 27 and her style should be something fun, vibrant and quirky. With the requisite fitter figure, of course. We await that transformation…

The entire article is crap. The actresses you have listed reigned Bollywood some time or the other (except for Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha). Posing such questions is way too childish for an entertainment website. All these five beautiful actresses have proven their acting and style skills. That is why they sustained so long in this industry. And who’s talking about style? you? BollywoodLife? duh! get a life!

Shame on you for writing such articles. The following women you mentioned are all quality women. People like you are who spread hatred and negativitey into young girls lives. If you are a journalist or a writer there comes a tag of responsibility, check your priorities. All of the women mentioned above are loved by millions aroung the world because of their talent….yest I said TALENT…pure talent…not what they wear or what the scale says. Get a new job.

  • FashionMyAss

What a stupid article. All you did was encourage the mentality that good looks can be achieved by wearing skimpy clothing and wearing tons of make up. If you want to look like that, go ahead … but why criticize those who don’t want to wear skimpy dresses or show their body… fashion my ass …
