From addressing social issues to making nasty comments about each other, celebs have done it all on Twitter. So who is your favourite in the twitterverse?
Twitter is the not just a platform for public conversation, but is now also a new place to find hot gossip, heated conversation and controversy. Since Bollywood has a few regulars who
post everything from pictures to thoughts to debatable statements, we decided to give away the Blue Bird of the Year award to that celeb who is followed by his or her loyal fans to know the latest updates on their lives. Don’t you remember the famous Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Verma spat on Twitter, where the latter took a dig at KJo’s Student Of The Year and called it ‘the disaster of the year’? The Koffee with Karan host lost his cool and responded saying that disaster of the year was Ramu’s territory and no one could ever take the comfortable place he had made for himself. More recently, Salman Khan was accused of being biased towards Tanishaa Mukherji after the Tanishaa-Kushal Tandon fight on the popular reality show Bigg Boss 7. The Twitter world was divided – many thought that Salman was supporting Tanishaa because she is from a filmi family. For us, every tweet is fodder for our wonderfully wicked minds. So you vote, Bollywoodlifers, to tell us who your favourite person on Twitter is…
Amitabh Bachchan: With over seven million followers, Big B is truly the Shehanshah of microblogging when it comes to numbers. The superstar has the most Indian celebs on Twitter as followers. The Satyagraha actor posts his comments, feelings and responses to everything, from films to family to social issues on the social networking site.
Shahrukh Khan: SRK has just crossed the six million fans tab and stands second when it comes to Twitter follower numbers. The Chennai Express actor is very active and tweets everything from his pictures at concerts to his daily schedule to his wise – and otherwise – thoughts. Like his energy in real life, there is a lot of positive feeling from King Khan in the twitterverse too.
Poonam Pandey: Are you wondering how this one made up to the nominations list? Don’t you remember who she is? Though Poonam is a former Kingfisher model, her claim to fame is her promise to strip nude if the Indian team won the World Cup in 2011. Since then, the desperate for publicity babe has been garnering eye balls for her sleazy pictures on the social networking site. She already has over four lakh followers. Quite an achievement, na?
Salman Khan: The Dabanng dude made a late entry into the world of tweets during 2012, but already has over four million followers. Though Sallu makes occasional diplomatic comments, the Bigg Boss host was recently in the media glare for his controversial statements on Twitter. He announced that the current season was his last as Bigg Boss host and drew a storm of protest and approval alike. What we like about the bhai of Bollywood is that he is honest and himself on the social networking site too.
Kamaal R Khan: Also known as KRK or Kamaal Rashid Khan, the self proclaimed film critic is notorious on Twitter. He shot to fame after his stint in Bigg Boss 3. However, he was kicked out of the glass walled house for his violent behaviour towards his housemates. From poking fun at celebs to making casteist remarks, the Deshdrohi actor has done it all. There are several cases filed against the Bhojpuri actor, but KRK has over a lakh people following his desperate attempts at grabbing publicity. Do you follow him for entertainment or something else, peeps?
