Trade buzz: Will Deepika Padukone and Sachin Tendulkar play spoilsport for Rajjo?

Deepika Padukone and Kangna Ranaut are all set to clash at the box office this week. While Dippy is currently the reigning queen of Bollywood, Kangs is riding high on the success of Krrish 3. But who will win the box office battle this time?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has already created great buzz amongst the masses. Bhansali’s desi version of Romeo-Juliet has all the right ingredients to be a successful film. From the chemistry between Dippy and Ranveer to the music of the film, audiences have been gushing about everything that this love story has to offer. Exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi says, “Strange as it may sound, Deepika Padukone is the hero of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. From Cocktail to Chennai Express, she has been in top form and has earned a large and loyal fan following.”

On the flip side, Kangna Ranaut’s Rajjo hasn’t been able to make a lasting impression. Though the curly-haired babe is a terrific actor and can pull off the most unexpected roles gracefully, this time she may find it tough to pull in crowds as she is competing against the Rs 100 crore queen of B-town. Also, the trailer of her film has received a lukewarm response and as far as the music is concerned, there is hardly anything impressive. “The brilliance of Sanjay Leela Bhansali in both departments – direction and music – make his a film that people will flock to the cinemas to watch! I am certain the film will do great business at the BO. Rajjo, on the other hand, doesn’t have anything that will attract people to buy tickets. And those who don’t want to watch Ram-Leela will probably end up being glued to the television to watch Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell match” points out Rathi

The makers of Rajjo may regret their decision to release the film alongside SLB’s magnum opus and Tendulkar’s last match. While we haven’t seen Kangna’s film, we are sure of one thing – even if the film isn’t too bad, the audience would prefer not to watch it coz they already have two good alternatives. Wrong timing, Ms Ranaut, wethinks someone messed up with this one! Lets just hope Rajjo doesn’t face the same fate as Satya 2 did.Subscribe to me on YouTube
