Trapped box office collection day 3: Rajkummar Rao’s movie earns Rs 1.44 crore over the first weekend

Rajkummar Rao‘s Trapped has been applauded by critics and the audience alike, however it hasn’t been able to impress at the box office. Rajkummar’s film has managed to earn Rs 26 lakh on Friday, Rs 46 lakh on Saturday and Rs 69 lakh on Sunday. If you add these figures to the Rs 3 lakh it earned through the Thursday paid previews, Trapped‘s total tally stands at Rs 1.44 crore. Considering that the movie got only 300 screens, we can say that Trapped has had a decent run till now. Talking about the detailed collections, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Trapped shows 50% growth on Sun… Wed pre 3 lakhs, Fri 26 lakhs, Sat 46 lakhs, Sun 69 lakhs. Total: Rs 1.44 cr [300 screens]. India biz.”

As a film, Trapped has got some really good reviews, especially for Rajkummar Rao‘s stunning act. Our reviewer, Sreeju Sudhakaran opined, “Trapped is a unique and engaging thriller, bolstered by a fine performance by Rajkummar Rao. It might not appeal to frontbenchers with a taste of commercial cinema, but for those who want something different from Bollywood, Trapped is recommended watch for you, albeit a bold and uneasy one.” The audience has also given it a thumbs up. Trapped also clashed with three other movies – Kiara Advani’s Machine, Govinda’s Aa Gaya Main Hero and Emma Watson’s Beauty And The Beast at the box office last Friday. While the Hollywood film earned a decent amount at the box office, the other two had a very disappointing run. In fact, we had decent expectations from Machine and Aa Gaya Hero but the content of the movies let them down.
