Varun Dhawan not in Karan Johar’s next?

The Student Of The Year actor will team up with his dad David Dhawan and brother Rohit Dhawan

Varun Dhawan’s debut film Student Of The Year hit the screens on Friday and director Karan Johar has promised that he will offer the three leading stars – Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun – roles in Dharma Productions’ movies in the future, regardless of SOTY’s outcome at the box office. But we’ve learnt that Varun has a promise to keep before signing yet another KJo film. The young lad is committed to doing a film with his father David Dhawan.

“I’ve a director and a leading man at home now. So I am very keen to start my own home banner. But I had to wait. Neither of my sons wanted to make his debut in a home production. They wanted to prove themselves outside the comfort zone and my wife and I totally endorsed their plans,” said David Dhawan. Rohit, as you know, turned director with Desi Boyz, starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.

Papa Dhawan has also promised that he will team up with his two sons to start his own banner. Now that is a good idea indeed! We think Varun should give it a try, rather than working in a yet another candy-floss movie with the over-the-top K factor. You agree?
