Veteran filmmaker Raj Tilak passes away

The director of Bollywood films such as 36 Ghante and Chehre Pe Chehra succumbed to septicaemia

Filmmaker Raj Tilak passed away at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai on October 6. He was 73. Tilak had just undergone a spine surgery post which he developed septicaemia and was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU), say reports.

Tilak was the son-in-law of the late BR Chopra. He directed superstars like Rekha, Shatrughan Sinha, Shashi Kapoor, Mala Sinha, Parveen Babi and Sanjeev Kumar to name a few.

According to reports, Tilak’s funeral was held the same day as he died. His brother-in-law Ravi Chopra’s wife Renu and their sons Abhay Chopra and Kapil Chopra were present, along with Adlabs’ Manmohan Shetty.

Tilak was also involved with the Producers’ Guild’s activities as its member. May his soul rest in peace.
