The Ferrari Ki Sawaari producer looks back at his career and feels that he has done a great job

Vidhu Vinod Chopra thinks that people perceive him as, in his own words, an arrogant bugger but the fact is that he is responsible for some of the finest works in Bollywood. Not only has he mentored actors like Vidya Balan, he has also given the industry, an iconic filmmaker like Rajkumar Hirani. His next film, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is being directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, and our sources insist that he is another talent to watch out for.

Talking about his films, in a recent interview, Chopra said, “It’s a tough question to answer. The music of 1942: A Love Story makes me proud. The courage to do a song-less 90-minute film, Khamosh in 1985 makes me proud. Looking back, I wonder where that courage came from! The other night I saw some of the sequences in Parinda and wondered where that came from. Then there’s Lage Raho Munnabhai…who in this day and age would dare to make an ode to Mahatma Gandhi? So there’s a bit of pride about every film.” Wethinks it is good that the maverick filmmaker is putting his money where his mouth is and giving a break to deserving newcomers.
