Vidya Balan conferred with National Film Award

Vidya Balan received the 59th National Award for The Dirty Picture on Thursday. The function was held in New Delhi and the winners were felicitated by Vice President Hamid Ansari

Spotted wearing a pretty pink sari, Vidya Balan was seen hobnobbing with Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee at the event. They congratulated each other on their victories. Soumitra Chatterjee was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his contribution to Indian cinema. The ceremony was attended by some of the most illustrious names from the film fraternity. Javed Jaffrey received an award for Inshallah Football. The film is produced by the actor and it revolves around the life of a Kasmiri footballer.

Bengali actor Rupali Ganguly, best known for her role of Draupadi in Mahabharat, received the Best Female Playback Singer award. Sanjay Suri bagged an award for I AM. Vidya Balan  said in a recent interview that she wished the whole Dirty Picture team was around to receive the award. She felt humbled and excited at the same time.
