Vidya Balan: Inshallah, I will have a baby!

Like Genelia Deshmukh, the Kahaani actor too has been under the media scanner off late

Vidya Balan’s recent outings have been reported extensively not for her bad taste in fashion, rather for being a suspected to-be mother. Like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who opted out of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine after her Cannes outing for the film’s promotion, Vidya’s walk out from Sujoy Ghosh’s Durga Rani Singh too was seen with suspicion. Many assumed that the fatigued actor’s constant visit to a suburban hospital was only going to confirm these pregnancy reports. however Ms Balan Kapur denies it all yet again. In an interview to a daily, The Dirty Picture heroine quashed all reports that suggested she was pregnant. She said, “I’m fed up of these rumours. These days people look at my stomach when they talk to me. Why are actors and actresses treated differently in this industry? Recently, a young actress did something to look different and she was castigated. Haven’t male actors got cosmetic jobs done? Inshallah, I will have a baby—but not so soon. I’m not mentally ready for motherhood yet. It’s a daunting task to be responsible for another human being. Motherhood has nothing to do with age. This is a predicament most working women face today since they are getting married in their 30s. Many of my friends have told me that it’s fulfilling to wake up in the morning and look at your baby, clean him/her up–but it’s all so consuming. This would leave you with little energy for anything else. I don’t know how I’ll deal with that. My sister, her husband and their kids have shifted to Khar. The kids are so fascinating. But as I said, I am not mentally ready to have my own kids yet. Give me some time, please.”

Well looks like we will all have to wait a little longer than expected. Vids is in no mood to be home bound, not as yet. And as far as Ms Balan‘s health is concerned we wish her a speedy recovery and hope she bounces back on the film front too.
