The music director-singer turns a year older today
Vishal Dadlani shuffles between two different worlds. One the on hand, he is the lead singer of one of India’s biggest heavy metal bands, Pentagram, and on the other, he has been making some superhit Bollywood music with his partner Shekhar Ravjiani. The duo started their career as composers with Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai in 2001, and their song Rabba mere rabba rabba went on to become a huge hit.
Some of Vishal Dadlani’s most memorable soundtracks include Jhankaar Beats (2003), Musafir (2004), Bluff Master (2005), Om Shanti Om (2207), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Dostana (2008), Anjaana Anjaani (2010), RA.One (2011), The Dirty Picture (2011) and Shanghai (2012).
Apart from composing, Vishal has made a huge mark as a singer. Composers like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal Bharadwaj and Amit Trivedi have used his voice to bring freshness to their songs. From upbeat numbers like Dhan ta dan (Kaminey) and Bharat mata ki (Shanghai), to romantic songs like Bin tere from Break Ke Baad and the recent Mar jayian from Vicky Donor. He definitely is one of the most unique voices in B-town today. Here’s wishing Bollywood’s asli rockstar a very happy birthday!
