Sharman Joshi, Sana Khan, Gurmeet Choudhary and Rajniesh Duggal starrer Wajah Tum Ho has earned Rs 2.86 crore on the day one of its release. The film which was earlier slated for a December 2 release was postponed to a December 16 release due to the on going demonetisation, which has affected film business as well. Senior trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and posted the first day figures, “#WajahTumHo Fri ₹ 2.86 cr [1995 screens]. India biz.”

Released on a good 1995 screens, business of the film is lesser than that of Hate Story 3 which had released around same time last year, was a similar film from same director and had Sharman Joshi toplining the cast. That film had opened to huge 9.72 crore on day one and had earned Rs 51.69 crore at the end of its run, which seems impossible from this one now. The film has just a week to earn as much money it can, as from next week, December 23, Aamir Khan will return to the big screen after two years with Dangal. The film showed good occupancy in the opening shows but couldn’t hold it in the evening shows.
The film has opened to generally negative reviews, BollywoodLife in its review had stated, “Wajah Tum Ho is far far better than Hate Story 2 and 3. Though it is most definitely not the edge of your seat suspense thriller, it is not outrageously bad either. In India where we celebrate one time watch movies, Wajah Tum Ho can easily be your weekend indulgence. But if you are an ardent worshipper of logical plots, and near flawless films, stick to your sorts.”
