What do Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have in common?

Soni Razdan has roped in her beti to star in her film adaptation of Manju Kapur’s bestseller Difficult Daughters

We apologize on the outset for reminding you of the hideousness that was Besharam. But we are happy to inform you that like Ranbir Kapoor who worked with his actor parents, Alia Bhatt is another starlet who is set to start working with mother Soni Razdan in the film adaptation of Difficult Daughters.

Though unlike Ranbir, Alia would not be sharing screen space with her actor-director mommy. Instead she would be directed by Razdan. The bilingual period film will be part Hindi and part Punjabi and is being scheduled for release in 2015. Razdan had been dreaming of casting her daughter in the adaptation of the beautiful novel for quite a while.

Perhaps busy babe Bhatt didn’t have dates to offer. After the release of her much-awaited film 2 States, which is also an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller, the Highway heroine is likely to dedicate time to her mother’s project. We hope that the bestseller-made-into-movie trend works wonders for the SOTY actor.
