Amitabh Bachchan has been in the film industry for more than four decades and has had an up and down curve throughout. Even till date, being the biggest superstar of Bollywood, he gets nervous before the release of any new film of his. Similarly, till date he gets anxious before any award ceremony’s winner is announced, where he is nominated. He recently won an award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) and while talking to people there, he went into retrospective mode and introspected about his mistakes in life.
Speaking to a leading daily Big B said, “We are always anxious about every product that we do. It is like an examination for us, a test and we are anxious to know whether the work we have done is appreciated by the audiences or not.” He also informed that in his 71 years of existence taking a sabbatical from work in the 1990s was the biggest mistake. He said that distancing himself from movies was the biggest mistake of his life and movie career. “I thought on those lines few years ago back in 90s which was a mistake. I shouldn’t have done that. Now I want to continue,” he said.
Senior Bachchan is fresh out of the success of Bhootnath Returns, which is a sequel to the 2008 film Bhootnath. He is gearing up for a busy year ahead with three films lined up for release and a couple of TV shows in the offing. “I have got R Balki, Shoojit Sircar’s film and a production with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. I have a TV serial that I have been working on. That should finish by June-July and I have another TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati in August,” he said.
