The fashion goddess has worked with the Munnabhai actor in Plan and Agneepath, but regrets not sharing ‘enough’ screen space with B-town’s rockstar. So when she got the chance in Zanjeer, here’s what happened…
Priyanka Chopra was at her entertaining best at a recent press conference to promote her new action flick Zanjeer, releasing this Friday. PC’s media events are always entertaining, courtesy her amusing way of answering queries. Ms Chopra was her usual chatterbox self and spoke at length about the much anticipated remake and working with director Apoorva Lakhia and Ram Charan Teja for the first time. But she forgot to say anything about her co-star whom she finds highly intimidating. Arre, apna Sanju baba, no! Maybe it was because she didn’t want to get in a spot saying anything about the convicted actor who’s serving his jail sentence. Right, Priyanka?
But when the skinny star was asked about Sanjay, the super excited gal just couldn’t stop praising Dutt. “He’s Bollywood’s quintessential rockstar. Na unke pehle koi tha, na unke baad koi hoga! We have done Plan and Agneepath together, but unfortunately I didn’t get to share screen space with him,” said PeeCee. “I’m a huge fan of Sanjay Dutt. During the shooting of Plan, I was quite new and used to shiver in front of him on the sets. He was very intimidating. I miss the time when we had macho stars like him.”
The bubbly actor shared an interesting anecdote from the sets of Zanjeer. “I had only one scene with Sanju sir in Zanjeer and I forgot all my lines when he stood in front of me. After Plan, we didn’t come face to face in Agneepath. He was reciting his dialogue and I just kept looking at him. Apoorva kept yelling at me to say my lines. Ram kept teasing me for the next three days in front of everyone. I was surprised, because generally I never forget my lines.” That is the Dutt effect, no!
