The Hasee Toh Phasee actor has a big worry lurking on her otherwise chirpy mind. Read on to find out
Parineeti Chopra certainly brought in a breath of fresh air with her effervescent and her effortless acting skills. From Ladies Vs Vicky Bahl to Ishaqzaade to Shuddh Desi Romance, Pari wooed audiences and made them sit up and take notice of her screen presence. The characters she has portrayed in her movies, so far, can be best described as quirky and absolutely bindaas. So does Parineeti fear that she can be typecast as she is playing yet another footloose in her forthcoming venture Hasee Toh Phasee?
“Not at all. Unfortunately, we are rigid about how we think about characters in Bollywood. You have to either wear a bikini or a ghagra choli or jeans to be able to differentiate between characters. We’re very limited when it comes to thinking about characters. The roles that I am playing are very different,” said Pari when she appeared on Anupama Chopra’s popular chat show The Front Row.
So far it’s been a breezy ride for the 27-year-old star. She is totally enjoying the attention she gets. But that attention and adulation has come with a price.”The pressure is to keep performing. I may act very well, look very good and do the best films. But I can’t decide if you [the audience] will like it or not. I want to act as long as I can, but if one day people get bored of me, then what do I do? Oh, yes. I think about it all the time. I want to be very successful and do lots of great films. But I can only do it till the time the audience wants to watch me. And that is not in my hand,” stated Pari with amazing clarity, without being pretentious.
But with a young girl who has made her mark by being her own, Pari should not think much about the future and should continue to entertain us the way she has been doing. And we are sure she will keep surprising herself and a legion of her fans in the way only she can, right BollywoodLifers?
