A resident from Bhopal has filed a PIL against Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming film. Read on to know why…
Ekta Kapoor is once again in the midst of a court case and this time it is for the latest film coming from her production house, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi. A Bhopal resident, NL Mathur, has gone ahead and filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the title of Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi and said that the title apparently hurt the sentiments of the Kayastha community.
Talking to a leading daily a source said, “In his petition, this person named NL Mathur, who is a resident of Bhopal, has said that the word Jhand is derogatory and it will hurt the sentiments of Mathurs from the Kayastha community. He has asked the filmmakers to change name of the film or remove the offensive word from the title.” Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Telefilm’s, Ekta Kapoor‘s production house, informed, “No such PIL has been served to us till date. We have just heard about this in the media. The film title relates to normal and standard nomenclature used in the country. It has been approved and registered by our film association. We are surprised to hear about this.”
Now we don’t know whom to believe but we definitely think that even if the PIL is true, the makers can easily tweak the title to something else and move ahead with the film effortlessly. You may never know the title might just get changed to Kuku Mathur Ki Jh@nd Ho Gayi. So BollywoodLifers, keep reading this space for more updates on the PIL.
