It showcases a contestant testing how many people know that the city of Kohima is a part of India and uses the ‘Audience Poll’ lifeline. Why she chose to use a lifeline, in spite of knowing the answer, took us by surprise.
Hindus and Muslims were pitted against each other by the British and somehow we are still living and breathing the same thought process. This sentiment has been passed on since generations now. The new KBC promo brings in a fresh perspective on the age old sentiment. For years these neighbours fought over every trivial thing. Every fight lead to calling names and mocking each other’s religion. A member from the Hindu house comes on KBC and is asked a question on Islam. He calls his family for answers… what happens next is truly heart warming!
This KBC promo shows how the entire mohalla is making arrangements; setting up the mike, loudspeakers, lights and spreading the carpet. Over hundred people are gathered around the stage waiting for a phone call. The caller is supposed to be Amitabh Bachchan from Kaun Banega Crorepati, where a friend of theirs is participating. The contestant uses the ‘Phone a Friend’ lifeline. The reason why the entire neighbourhood is gathered is indeed brilliant and touching.
