Who made Karan Johar feel inferior?

The Student Of The Year director said he felt that way after watching Anurag Basu’s Barfi!

Karan Johar is one of the few filmmakers who publicly appreciates the films made by his contemporaries. He doesn’t stop at just praising others, but has on occasion also stated that he couldn’t make films like Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali et al. The latest filmmaker Karan aspires to be like is Anurag Basu. Apparently KJo watched the Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra-Ileana D’Cruz starrer Barfi! and came out gobsmacked. And he took to Twitter to post his plaudits.

He said, “I just saw #barfi…i have never felt more limited, inferior and talentless…anurag basu is the god of all filmakers…his genius is barfi!!” About the acting he tweeted, “#barfi….Ranbir Kapoor has given the most outstanding performance….he deserves a running ovation! it will be an honour to work with him..” Showering praises on the leading lady, he said, “#barfi…@priyankachopra is just brilliant as jhilmil….superbly nuanced and pitch perfect….her portrayal lingers long after the film…”

We went awwww at KJo’s humility and think it would be great if he directed a film with RK Jr and Piggy Chops, now that he knows that they can deliver stellar performances when given meaty roles…
