After having a deluge of Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj in B-Town, Rohit Shetty’s sequel to Singham will have a baddie who is not known to many…
Ajay Devgn’s Singham 2 would have an unconventional baddie this time. Prakash Raj played the villainous role of Jaykant Shikre with aplomb in the first instalment. This time over, it would be the Kaminey baddie Amole Gupte who will try to play havoc in Bajirao Singham’s kingdom. Amole Gupte would be returning to acting once again and what better way to continue the baddie streak, hai na?
A little birdie informed us that the character has been modeled on Sanjay Dutt’s Khalnayak act. Amole has been asked to bulk up for the role and his wife, editor Deepa Bhatia, has been given the task of feeding him with carb-heavy meals. The Taare Zameen Par writer told a leading daily that he dismissed Rohit Shetty’s offer at first, as a joke. It was later, when the Golmaal director kept on pestering him that he understood it was not a joke and agreed to play the role.
Amole is famous for writing and directing children oriented films but seeing him in the Vishal Bhardwaj film made everyone believe that he could pull off a villain’s character with zest. Now whether he would be as good as Prakash Jha, only time will tell. Till then, you tell us BollywoodLifers, do you think Amol will play a conventional baddie in Singham 2?
