The great American track and field athlete called the Flying Sikh after watching Rakeysh Ompraksh Mehra’s recently released biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Frederic Carlton Lewis aka Carl Lewis, who won 10 Olympics medals including nine gold, and 10 World Championship medals including eight gold, was quite moved after watching Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s newly released Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Lewis was so stirred, that he could not resist himself from calling Milkha Singh to congratulate the Indian sprinter for the deep impact he has made as an athlete. BMB is a consummate biopic based on India’s greatest sprinter ever Milkha Singh who won 77 races of 80 races he ran.
Farhan Akhtar is getting tremendous appreciation for portraying the Flying Sikh on the big screen and now Lewis’s call has only reaffirmed the fact that the movie has a global impact. “Yes, Carl Lewis indeed rang up Milkha Singh after seeing the film. We all hoped Milkhaji’s life-story would make an inspirational impact. But we never imagined the impact would be so widespread,” said director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in an interview to a daily.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag netted Rs 32.8 crore in the first three days of its release, and is going stronger with every passing day at the box office.
