Though the actor did not leave behind a suicide note before bidding adieu to the world, early reports indicate that Jiah was not particularly happy with her career in Bollywood
Jiah Khan’s suicide has come as a shocker to the film fraternity. The 25-year-old star hanged herself to death at her plush Juhu apartment on Monday night. Jiah shot to limelight after her bold performance in Ram Gopal Varma’s 2007 movie Nishabd, followed by memorable roles in Ghajini and Housefull. But in the last three years, one gathers, Jiah did not manage to bag any role of her choice and that made her depressed and sad. “In spite of being highly appreciated in Nishabd and being a part of hugely successful Ghajini and Housefull she had no work for the last three years. The last time I met her Jiah told me that everyone around her makes her feel like a failure. I don’t know the reason what led to this but Jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future,” tweeted Ram Gopal Varma, who gave the young actor her first Bollywood break.
Jiah’s mother Rabiya Khan has also told the police that her daughter was not happy with the way her career was shaping up in Bollywood. She was upset since she couldn’t do well in an audition in Hyderabad on Sunday and told her mother that she did not feel that her career was moving forward. She was highly disturbed and wanted pursue interior designing instead.
Meanwhile Jiah’s alleged boyfriend, actor Aditya Pancholi’s son, Suraj Pancholi is also being questioned after a report revealed that Jiah was also going through a crisis in her personal life too, and apparently the last call she made was to Suraj.
At the moment it is difficult to pinpoint one reason why Jiah took that drastic step of ending her life in such a horrific manner. She has left no suicide note and police are probing her domestic help and security people to find more about the incident. The entire film fraternity is in a state of shock, trying hard to come to terms with the untimely tragic death of the young actor.
PS: Suraj Pancholi had said in an interview that his parents are friends with Jiah’s family. Aditya Pancholi, television actor Urvashi Dholakia and producer Mukesh Bhatt were spotted visiting the actor’s residence.
