The album titled Armaan, saw the crème de la crème of the music industry attending the launch. Is it just because his father and uncle are famous that so many celebs are promoting his album or does he really have some potential? We wonder…
Armaan Malik’s debut album was launched yesterday at an event held at the Taj Land’s End Hotel in Bandra, Mumbai by none other than the iconic Salman Khan. Now if you’re wondering who in the world is Armaan Malik, we will answer your question.
Armaan Malik is the 18-year-old son of Daboo Malik who along with being Anu Malik’s brother, has composed music for films like Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Hum Tumhaare hain Sanam, etc. This is not all! The album is being distributed by Universal Music India and has been produced by Amal Malik— Armaan’s elder brother. Such a family affair, no?
Moving on to the launch of the album. The Jai Ho star unveiled the album along with Salim Merchant from the prolific Salim-Sulaiman jodi and the event was attended by the likes of Alka Yagnik, Aditi Singh Sharma, Suchitra Krishnamoorthy and film star Poonam Dhillon.
Armaan sang some songs from the album and the audience reacted as if he was the new age Bryan Adams. He also treated the audience to a preview of his debut music video Krazy Konnection featuring Salim Merchant. Salman Khan applauded Armaan by saying, “He is one of the most enthusiastic young singers I know along with his brother. To make melody comes from his father but the energy is all them. He’s struck the right chords, the right feel.” Now that feels good coming from the Dabangg Khan but is he really praising his talents or was it just one more promotional event for him?
While all this is good, we wonder what is so special in this album? There are a gazillion new singers in the industry, who launch their music album every now and then; but to get so many celebs promoting them might be a beggar’s dream. Are the songs so good that Salman Khan had to unveil the album? Or is Armaan just using his illustrious family’s name as a stepping stone? We wonder…
According to sources, the album comprises seven original tracks along with one remix version. The genre of the album is contemporary pop and it encompasses EDM, R&B and Rock all in one. The album promises to strike a chord with club hoppers, but we can’t comment anything before we get to hear it for ourselves.
We at BollywoodLife wish the budding singer all the best and hope that he would send us the first copy of his album so that we can listen to it and know whether there is actually any base for such a hype or is it all crass. In Salim Merchant’s words “he is the future” and we hope he lives up to that else we will always be here to bajatey raho. Hai na peeps?
