The Saat Khoon Maaf actor seems to have learnt the thumb rule of acting from daddy Naseeruddin Shah
Vivaan Shah is having a great year till now. Two of the most anticipated films of this year – Bombay Velvet and Happy New Year – have him playing important roles. Grapevine has it that he is playing the role of a driver in Anurag Kashyap’s film and he would be driving around a superstar played by Anushka Sharma. How did he manage to get such a small role, you ask? Well, the story goes something like this…
A little birdie informs us that Naseeruddin Shah’s younger son came forward and insisted that he be allowed to do the role of the driver. Talking to a leading daily Anurag confirmed, “My casting director came to me and said, ‘Vivaan wants to do Anushka’s driver’s role. I said, ‘It’s too small. Why would he want to do it?’ Then Vivaan spoke to me and said, ‘Dad said there are lots of roles in the film and you must do one of them. I want to do this role.’ That is when a few roles were combined to justify his role and he is very good in the film. Coincidentally, Naseer sahab had also done a small role in That Girl In Yellow Boots, where he had shot with me for a day.”
Now that is called like father like son. It seems Vivaan has learnt the golden rule of acting—never judge a role by its length. Hai na BollywoodLifers?
