Why doesn’t Salman Khan want news of his hit-and-run case to be telecast on TV?

The Dabangg actor has been in the news due to his court case

Salman Khan has been in the news for his 2002 hit-and-run case since last month when a witness came forward and identified the Jai Ho star as the prime accused. Now Sallu’s lawyer has filed a petition at the Bandra court stating that the news coverage of the case may affect the outcome of the case and therefore the news channels should be stopped from reporting anything about the same.

If we recall various news channels kept on blaring with news of the case for quite some time last month. Also, they had been setting up various discussion panels on the same and putting forward their own opinion of the case, which definitely affects people’s perceptions towards Salman. The Being Human star is of the opinion that the coverage by these news channels is defamatory and intended at dramatising the occurrences of the case. Thus Sallu miyan doesn’t want any report related to the case to be telecast on the news channels.

The case was, however, not taken ahead as there were no representatives from the news channels and the judge asked Salman’s lawyers to apply with a fresh petition informing the defendants. Now only time will tell as to what action the news channels take on the same as reporting about Salman’s case is a big source of income for most of these channels. Now will they be ready to part off with that in good faith, or will they revert back strongly at Salman stating that he is using his star power and immense wealth to subdue the voice of the common man.
