Buzz is that the Jab Tak Hai Jaan actor’s debut production won’t be releasing this year
Anushka Sharma’s first production NH10 was supposed to hit the theatres this September. However, we hear that the makers have pushed the film’s release date to next year. Why, you ask? Well, it’s not that the makers need more time to shoot the film but they felt that there’d be too many Anushka Sharma starring films releasing back to back. The Dil Dhadakne Do actor will be seen opposite Aamir Khan in P.K. and opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet, and both these films are slated for release this year. If NH10 too released this year, it would be an overdose of Anushka Sharma.
While Bombay Velvet is likely to hit the theatres on November 28, Aamir Khan’s P.K. is slated for release on December 19. If NH10 too released this year, it would be an overdose of Anushka Sharma.
A source was quoted, “Although the film is complete, the makers wanted a date which offered no competition. Moreover, Anushka as a co-producer felt that three films in a year would be a complete overkill.”
Director Navdeep Singh was quoted by a daily, “We haven’t locked a date yet, but yes, the film will be pushed ahead. The producers are looking for a clear window. This year there is a clutter of big films and we don’t want to be overpowered by them. It’s the marketing team’s call, they want the film to have a good run.” Anushka’s co-producer Vikramaditya Motwane said, “We will announce a release date soon.”
