Why is Farhan Akhtar and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Bombay Samurai postponed?

Yes, yet another of Bebo’s films has been delayed. Find out why!

A little birdie tells us that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Farhan Akhtar’s next with Dev Benegal, titled Bombay Samurai has been postponed. It’s the same project about which Kareena was very excited and only a few days ago and had expressed that she’s looking forward to act alongside Farhan. Anyways, so what happened, you ask? The film was supposed to go on floors in March but now it won’t. There were reports that about some issues with the script and the production house being bust with Shahrukh Khan-Farhan Akhtar starrer Raees at that time. However, the filmmakers confirm that these aren’t the reasons for postponing the film. Director Dev Benegal wasn’t ready to get into prep and make the shoot dates, says the film producer Ritesh Sidhwani.

Ritesh adds, “It’s just that Dev was dealing with some personal stuff and it took up a lot of his time. So we had to postpone the film.” On being asked when the film will go on floors, he says, “At our production house, we follow a mandatory prep of 12 weeks at least before the principal photography begins on any film. At this point, all heads of departments need to be exclusively working towards that film. So it will all depend on Dev and the dates of the artistes, but definitely not this year.”

Hmmm… The status of yet another Kareena Kapoor-starrer – Shuddhi is indefinitely delayed. And now, Bombay Samurai has added to that list. We will not only have to wait for long to watch Bebo reunite with Hrithik Roshan on the big screen, but also to watch Kareena team up with Farhan. Are Bebo’s films jinxed, we wonder? Though marriage hasn’t affected Kareena’s professional life and she’s still getting good offers, her luck certainly isn’t favouring her, hai na? We hope everything falls in place soon.
