Sony TV’s popular show is all set to shut shop by March 28
Kritika Kamra (Dr Nidhi) and Sharad Kelkar’s (Dr Ashutosh) Kuch Toh Log Kahenge has not been getting good TRPs for some time now. The show suffered majorly when Mohnish Behl was replaced by Sharad. While Kelkar did a splendid job, the TRPs were still on a downward spiral. The constant changes in the story also did nothing to elevate numbers. A spokesperson from the channel said, “Yes, it’s true that the show is going off air, but the dates are not yet confirmed to us.”
Rajan Shahi in an interview said that they are drawing the curtains on the show because Kritika wants to take a break. And without Kritika, he can’t imagine the story making any kind of progress, so there’s no point in replacing her, he firmly believes. Kritika justified her exit with, “I have been continuously working without a break for years now. It’s about time I sit back and relax a little.”
However, this will not be the end of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, as Kritika says, “The production house is in discussion about coming back with a season 2, but maybe some time later.” Now that’s some good news for fans, right?
Well, if everything works out according to plan, Kritika’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge may just be replaced by Sanaya Irani’s Chanchan, which was earlier titled Modern Bahu. And we heard that telly heartthrob Barun Sobti could play the male lead in that one, so it looks like life could get interesting indeed!
