Why is Manoj Kumar withdrawing case against Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan?

The yesteryear actor has decided to withdraw his defamation case against SRK and Farah Khan as his purpose of filing the case has failed

Manoj Kumar had asked the makers of Om Shanti Om to delete the scene in which Shahrukh Khan had mocked the veteran actor. In fact, in 2008, the court has asked Shahrukh and Farah Khan to delete the objectionable scenes from all the prints. However, the two did not follow the orders and also ignored Manoj Kumar’s request. The Shahrukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer was released in Japan with no changes and hence the decision to take back the case.

Explaining the whole situation, Manoj Kumar’s lawyer said, “Despite all assurances and promises, Shahrukh Khan failed to remove the objectionable scenes from the said film. In fact, the scenes were reproduced in the new prints released internationally. They didn’t even show any remorse. As a result of which, my client who is a world renowned celebrity has decided to withdraw the case because it has failed in achieving the objective of bringing some sense of responsibility to Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan.”
