The stand-up comedian had confirmed about playing the second lead in his Bollywood debut, a rumour that film’s director has denied

Sunil Grover, who is famous for portraying the character of Gutthi on Comedy Nights with Kapil, had recently told that he was doing a parallel lead in Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Gabbar, but it seems that the stand-up comedian was lying through his teeth. Director Krish has confirmed that Sunil would be playing a small supporting role in the film. The director was also upset about the fact that Sunil Grover was trying to gain public attention by spreading such rumours.

The director maintains that it is an out and out Akshay Kumar film but Sunil would be having an important role to play in the film. Gabbar seems to be a mix of comedy and drama and promises to be just like Khiladi 786 and Boss. Gabbar is the Bollywood remake of the Tamil blockbuster Ramanna and would have Shruti Haasan opposite Akshay. The film would also see the two Dabangg villains, Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj, come together. Kareena Kapoor Khan has been approached to do an item number in the film and it rumours are to be believed, Saifu’s Begum has agreed to do the special number.

Meanwhile Sunil Grover is coming back on television with his own show where he plays a character called Chutki, which is modeled on similar lines of Gutthi. We think Sunil already has had his share of bad press with his spat with Kapil Sharma. We think it is very cheap publicity for the actor to spread such rumours about himself and he should refrain from doing so in the future. Don’t you think so too peeps?
