Why is Sunny Deol’s Singh Saab the Great in censor trouble?

Buzz is that the Censor board has banned a song from Deol’s upcoming film

A little birdie tells us that The Central Board of Film Certification has banned a song, Palang Tod from Sunny Deol’s Singh Saab The Great. The board claims that the lyrics of the song are objectionable and cannot be shown on national television. The filmmakers were planning a Diwali release for the special song as TV TRPs are high during this season. However, they had to change their promotional strategy due to the censor board’s intervention.

Director Anil Sharma says, “My promotional strategy has been spoilt. I don’t think the song deserved such an extreme reaction, The Board has okayed other songs which were far more offensive. We have been needlessly targeted.”

Well, he does have a point, no? Not that we’ve seen or heard the song but we hear that the song goes like this: Khaike palang tod paan, Tune le li meri jaan, Haari haari main to haari, Chal hat beimaan. Is it as vulgar as the other songs that we’ve heard and seen in the recent times? Hmmm… Not so long time ago, everyone was singing praises for Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Shake the Tooh. How can we forget Sunny Leone’s Laila Teri Le Legi from Shootout at Wadala. Also, Priyanka Chopra’s skimpily clad avatar in Ram Chahe Leela from Ram-Leela was cleared by the board.

Anyway, now we hear that Sunny and Anil had to rework the trailer and have approached the Revising Committee. Let’s wait and watch if we get to see the song…
