Why was Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starrer Shamitabh’s shoot disrupted?

R Balki had to suddenly call for pack up while shooting in Finland. Find out why

A little birdie tells us that the shoot of R Balki’s next Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan had to be stalled in Finland. It had nothing to do with permissions from local authorities or anything but due to natural causes! We hear that during a 10-day schedule, a snow storm hit the sets of Shamitabh in Lapland, near Helsinki. While Dhanush and Akshara were present on the sets while this happened, Amitabh wasn’t a part of the schedule. Reportedly, the cast and crew had to walk 10 km to a safe location, with their equipment!

A source was quoted by a daily, “They were shooting when the snow storm occurred, and the entire team found themselves in jeopardy. There were 33 members from the production team, including 15 women. They could not have waited for any vehicle or chopper to rescue them when they saw the storm, so they walked the entire distance at 3am, carrying all the equipment.”

The source added, “Choreographers Bosco and Caesar were on the sets, filming a dance sequence. Although they had wrapped up shooting that day, they had to return the next day to continue the shoot. It was not possible to delay it as they had permissions in place for only 10 days.”

R Balki confirmed that everyone returned safely. He said, “Everything went off well. Though it was an adventure for all of us, thinking of it now, it was very challenging and something none of us will forget.”

Well, we are glad that everyone was safe at the end of the day. After all, all’s well that ends well, hai na?
