The Star Plus daily soap was the producer-director’s first venture into television, but the constant low TRPs put the show and the channel in trouble
Inspite of low numbers, Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted the story to follow in the same lines as the novel written by Govardhanram Tripathi, the channel on the other hand believed in changing tracks as per TRPs – a tiff over the content of the show was apparently one of the major reasons as to why SLB decided to opt out. The constant demands and mood swings of the actors simply added to his woes.
In recent news, we hear that Sphereorigins Mutivision Pvt Ltd has taken over the production rights of Saraswatichandra from Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films Pvt Ltd.
Sphereorigins Mutivision, known for making popular shows like Balika Vadhu, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon…Ek Baar Phir, Saat Phere, and Jyoti, started shooting the daily soap starring Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget under their banner on August 23. “We appreciate the trust the channel has shown towards us and chose us to produce the popular show Saraswatichandra.
