Will Aamir Khan’s loss be Hrithik Roshan’s gain?

Mr Perfectionist was in talks with Excel Entertainment for an upcoming ‘time-travel’ drama to be directed by debutant Nitya Mehra. Though Aamir was impressed with the script he couldn’t agree with the financial terms for the project

The perfectionist that he is Aamir Khan will not give you a nod to your project unless all his creative and financial demands are met. The superstar is known for getting every nuance (including his contract) right before he takes up any venture.

Our secret khabroo tells us Aamir was in advanced talks with Excel Entertainment for an upcoming sci-fi drama to be directed by debutant Nitya Mehra. While Aamir was keen to do this project as he liked the scrip immensely, he couldn’t agree on his remuneration and commercial terms offered by the production house. The 48-year-old therefore decided to walk out of the proposed deal quite amicably without any hassle.

The production house has therefore approached Hrithik Roshan for the said project as Hrithik has been remarkably successful with his sci-fi outings like Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish and Krrish 3. We also gather that Deepika Padukone was being considered as the leading lady for the movie but with Aamir’s exit the makers are not sure if the leggy lass will be interested to do the film anymore. But, hey wasn’t Deepika keen to work with Hrithik as well?

The possibilities of this time-travel seem many at the moment with various permutations and combinations of its possible lead cast being calculated by the production house. But we at BL thinks that Hrithik and Dippy will make for a solid couple who can stand tall for this hatke project-both figuratively and literally, no?Subscribe to me on YouTube

This is such a sad news because many Aamir fans including me were waiting for a movie of him and Deepika. Hope things go all right and Aamir will take this movie

    • Karan

Aamir with Deepika? As if Aamir-Katrina pair wasn’t odd enough. I have all the respect for him, but they wouldn’t look best with each other.

Aamir will Do The Right Choice /Perfect Choice

  • RAJ

    HRITHIK is the right choice…

  • Karan

Two of the best actors in the country. I have also heard Aamir is reading the script of ‘Shuddhi’, in which Hrithik was supposed to be in the lead role. Now, Hrithik for an Aamir movie. Hrithik can’t be a bad choice for any type of movie, I would approach to him as well if I were the producer of it.

The only thing which confuses me, is that will Hrithik really work on a project in 2015? He opted out of Shuddhi, because he didn’t want it to get delayed more, but the maker of the film has announced that it will release during Christmas next year. What’s really going on in Hrithik’s mind?

    • Cattypuss

I think he got cold feet as time got closer to filming with Kareena? Apparently it’s been 10 years since their last pairing and there was gossip surrounding them about an affair on the set of their last movie? Besides, he might have pulled the pin hoping to win back Suzzanne as she was less then amused then these rumors filtered back to her – what do you think?

      • Christine Fain

I think that Hrithik and Kareena’s on-screen chemistry had more to do with their acting skills than with any actual affection. Yes, they worked well together, but I find it difficult to believe that Sussanne felt threatened by anyone for Hrithik’s true affection. It was plain to see that he adored his wife.

Personally, I’m just really excited by the prospect of any movie with Hrithik in the lead since I know he will make it a huge success because of his professionalism and charisma. He’s a gold mine in Bollywood, and Farhan Ahktar is smart enough to jump at the chance to work with him again.

        • Cattypuss

Hi Christine – Are you in the US? I am in Australia. I came across Hrithik by pure chance when some Indian friends of mine suggested I watch Jodhaa Akbar. That lead me onto some of his other movies like Dhoom2. Karan (the guy I was replying to) has suggested more for me, and I am in the process of either watching or buying those movies on DVD. Can’t speak a word of Hindi and that frustrates me no end. So I have to rely on subtitles. I am actually thinking of trying to learn the language and using the movies as practice. I have spent a lot of time studying his background, including his marriage. The two supposed affairs that keep bobbing up repeatedly are Kareena and Barbara Mori. I have no doubt that he loves Suzzanne, but you and I both know that being an actor surrounded by drop dead gorgeous women is such a huge temptation. Bollywood is no different to Hollywood in this respect. These rumors got back to Suzzanne, and if reports are to be believed she literally blew her stack – and on top of that she’s been fighting with his mother PInky. As you say he is very talented, professional and has loads of charisma – but he’s human too. We put these people on such a high pedestal, and we imagine them as perfect icons. No doubt he wants her back in his life – and for that to happen they are going to have to understand the part that BOTH played in undermining this marriage.

          • Christine Fain

Yes, Cattypuss, I’m in Florida. Like you, I find the subtitles a must but it means I have to watch the movies repeatedly (gee, darn…).That way I can remember what’s being said so I can pay attention to the actual acting.

And yeah, I’m a hopeful romantic and hold people to their best because it is always my ferverent hope that they will be on their best behavior. But realistically speaking I could see a reason for an attraction, but I couldn’t actually “see” an attraction in any of the interviews I watched. They just seemed like co-workers…no loving glances, no stolen touches, no secret smiles…just friends. Now when you see video of Hrithik with Sussanne, it’s a whole different picture. He’s constantly touching her, he looks into her eyes, he whispers in her ear, his eyes adore her…he loves her and it’s plain to see on his face.
For his sake, I hope they can patch up the marriage, but I don’t think she was ever as in love with him as he was with her. I mean even on their wedding day, she was…jokingly?…pulling away from him as he put the flower wreath around her shoulders. It was as if subconsciously she was backing away from him. (And what girl in her right.mind would back away from Hrithik?!?!)

          • Cattypuss

Yep – I have to watch those (movies) about three times – but who’s complaining, lol lol. Back to Hrithik/Suzzanne – They went with one another for four years before the actual wedding, and mixed in the same circle of friends. To be frank I think he got married too young – when all the adoration and fame hit (with 30,000 marriage proposals and hordes of screaming girls) I think the parents of these two panicked and pushed for the marriage asap. I could be wrong, but that is my overall perception. Being a rather shy/sensitive introvert he would have been better off waiting until his early 30′s for marriage. He’s closest friends say that Hrithik doesn’t handle things well when people are overly critical. His father has stated he is a very kind and sensitive person – reports are he is not handling this separation well and is in a depressed state. For his sake I hope he’s getting proper support – and I include professional help in that as well. Men don’t handle marriage breakdowns well – especially if it’s the wife who has walked and taken the kids with her. Anyway – here’s hoping that better days are ahead for him. As his father as stated, he deserves happiness in his life.

          • Christine Fain

Since Hrithik’s family means the world to him, this would have to be depressing for him. I’m glad he has work to keep him occuppied in the meantime. Still my prayers are for a return of his happiness…however that may be accomplished. If Sussanne has “moved on” then I hope he will be able to as well.

          • Cattypuss

Ditto to that Christine – as fans we can only hope. I noticed you are on Twitter – I am to – but under a pseudonym. :-) I’ll send you a Tweet.

      • Karan

He could have asked to replace Kareena with any other actress if he wasn’t comfortable working with her again. Even, the producer of the film had decided to replace her because of her recent failures.
The way I see it, he wanted a break from acting to spend more time with his kids and wife(should she reconcile with him). But, where does that leave his future projects?

        • Cattypuss

If he wants a try at getting his wife back, and spend more time with the boys his projects may have to go on hold for a while. The 64,000 dollar question will be this: Will producers and directors be willing to wait for him?? He runs the risk of his career taking a nosedive, and at 40 this risk is real. But then again, his father is a producer, and that might be his only saving grace if others in the industry sideline him for other available actors. What a mess Karen – this wouldn’t be happening if his marriage didn’t implode :-( There’s nothing after Bang Bang is there?

          • Karan

You’re right. But, he won’t have to rely on his father in future for sure Lol. He’s so versatile that most of directors try their best to sign him in their movie. He has rejected so many big projects due to date problems. I do agree that his recent injury and personal problems didn’t have good impact on producers and directors, but Hrithik is known for his commitment and discipline.

His marital problem has indeed made a negative impact on his career :-(

He’s rumored to be the lead in Karan’s ‘The Immortals of Meluha’, approached for SLB’s dream project, a historic drama ‘Bajirao-Mastani’, Excel Entertainments’ next Sci-fi flick, and his father’s next under their own production house(http://www.emirates247.com/entertainment/superb-script-stops-hrithik-roshan-s-krissh-4-2014-03-07-1.540750)
The sad news is, none of them are ‘confirmed’.
I do believe that he will sign ‘Immortals of Meluha’ and his father’s next. But the question is, when will they come to fruition? Him opting out of ‘Shuddhi’ makes me believe he won’t have any release in 2015 :-(

          • Cattypuss

Thanks for all that info Karan, much appreciated – if he doesn’t have a release in 2015 maybe he can use this time to sort out his shambolic private life and ongoing health issues. I would dearly like him to capture ‘The Immortals of Meluha’. It’s a role that would suit him so well. It looks like Bajirao Mastani might go to another actor – Ranveer Singh? The director seems to be favoring him and he is in talks with him. I clicked onto your link and it doesn’t seem to be working for me. O_O Drat! There’s no denying he is a disciplined and committed artist. Going back and completing Bang Bang after his accident proves that. I hope all producers and directors take good note of that characteristic. Recently I read a rather endearing trait of his. He touches the feet of his elder family members (grandparents) when they enter the room. Is this a Hindu custom or an overall Indian custom? Whichever it is, I find that very touching. Shame we don’t have the same respect here in the West. for our elders :-(

          • Anu Pathak

Yeah It is a Hindu custom.

          • Cattypuss

Hi Anu – Thanks for clearing that up for me. As I said before, as a westerner I find that a very touching and endearing trait. We could learn a lot from other cultures – because from where I am sitting, ours is far from perfect. O_O

          • Anu Pathak

In our culture right from the childhood, our parents teach us how to respect elders and most of us follow this.

          • Cattypuss

Yes – it’s a shame that we in the West didn’t have something similar. These days most people can’t wait to shuffle off their elderly into nursing homes. Families on the subcontinent would look after their elderly at home – we used to do the same half a century ago. My, how times change…. :-( western society is going downhill faster than a wagon filled with rocks.

          • Anu Pathak

Yeah some idiots are here also who left their old parents to suffer, they are copying western culture.

          • Karan

I do think ‘The Immortals of Meluha’ will be his first choice out of those. It seems a very interesting project, and Hrithik is one of very few people who would do justice with Lord Shiva character.

Yes, Ranveer looks more likely to be the main lead in Bajirao Mastani, but that’s because Hrithik might have turned it down. I don’t think anyone in India could play a better emperor than him, and the whole industry knows it after watching Jodhaa Akbar.

Yes, its a Hindu custom as Anu has pointed out. And its good to know that westerners like you appreciate our culture :-)

    • Debarati

Infact I was desperately searching in google that wheather any movies of him coming in 2015…a whole year without his movie is like the worst year for me

  • Jhansi ki Rani

Hrithik and Aamir are by far the most versatile, authentic and genuine Actors in the current bollywood arena. I believe Mr perfectionist Khan and Hrithik both serve justice to all different types of roles and characters. It is my view that these two Indian superstars can play lead heros, villains, disabled, detectives, Uncles, gradpas etc must better than any other bollywood actor. All though my all time favourite is the legendry Amitabh Bachchan, the greatest actor to have ever entered Indian cinema, but Aamir with his intellect and Hrithik with his all round creativity and charisma both allow me to continue watching bollywood. There is no doubt that bollywood lacks the art direction that it once used to rely on, there needs to be more nana patekar, naseeruddin Shah, manoj bajpaye etc and less of these new mediocre chocolate boys like ranbir kapoor/ Ranveer Singh etc (average talents)… the most overrated actor in bollywood has been Salman Khan, even Abhishek bachchan’s acting in Guru, sarkar raj and Paa is greater than salman Khan’s entire acting career. besides undertaking humanitarian work, salman Khan has achieved very little as an actor in his 25/30 years in bollywood. So I’m glad that bokkywood still has Aamir and Hrithik!

    • Cattypuss

I am an admirer of Amitabh Bachchan’s body of work as well. But Hrithik is a recent discovery for me, and only because I was recovering from surgery and some Indian friends suggested I watch Jodhaa Ackbar……and the rest as they say, is history :-) With the guidance of Karan here I have watched many more of his movies, and I am about to get Agneepath. My only frustration is I have to rely on English subs and watch them several times to get the entire storyline right.
