Will Aamir Khan’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’ beat Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’?
The teasers of Mr Perfectionist’s new television show look promising and are aimed at connecting with the entire TV viewing audience
There has been a lot of buzz about the phrase “truth is invincible” ever since Aamir Khan’s television debut as the anchor-host of a show was announced a while ago. There were speculations galore about the nature of the show and we were one of the first to tell you what the brouhaha was all about. As usual, we were right….well, almost! The well made teasers of Satyamev Jayate, launched yesterday, show how involved Aamir was with the making of the whole thing and how he feels that entertainment is not only about making people laugh.
In one of the teasers Aamir says that he wants the show to connect across the board and will not play to the gallery. It will make people cry, anger them and will lead to a reaction and, if that happens, the show will accomplish what it has set out to do. Like with everything else the Talaash actor does, he has spent a lot of time on this one and it seems to be very close to his heart.
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that Aamir is taking on the other B-town stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt and aims to beat them at their game. If the trailer is anything to go by we can at least boast of having one TV show worth our dinner time viewing. Of course, we wait to watch it to see what it will be all about and will – invincibly truthfully – tell you what we think. But for now, you watch the trailers and tell us if you like them.

At the very outset, I want to thank you for the fantastic show. The efforts of your entire team is commendable. I am sure you will bring a REVOLUTION in the country.. I have watched several shows on awareness, but your show was so much different… Truly the AAMIR style… I loved it to the core.. My heart goes out to all those women who have faced such cruel autrocities. My only suggestion to you is that people should just not only remember it as a heart touching episode that they watched on tv but also put their best foot forward to erradicate such devilish practices.. Dowry the root cause of the problem.
Congratulations. who better than you, who has stood up for all public causes with courage and conviction, to jockey this program.I honestly feel one episode is just not enough to dissect and find remedies for a problem as deep rooted as the one taken up by you in your first episode.One of the doctors present in the show mentioned that it all started in early seventies in Govt hospitals as a means of family planning and later on carried forward by doctors who are seen as abettors of this crime.While this could be one of the reasons for this problem, treating this facet of the problem will not wipe off this problem in total.This will amount to treating the symptom rather than the cause.This problem is much more deep rooted and has been there from ages. The problem i am referring to here is that of dowry which ails most of the indian society. This decease, if it can be called one, affects one and all irrespective of educational background or financial status. Higher the status of girls family, the demand goes up proportionately. The marriage expences are borne by the girls side totally.From the map which was shown today with parts of the country affected painted red, it can be observed fortunately that most of the eastern and southern parts are not afflicted. The reasons could be attributed to the high rate of literacy in these parts apart from the matriarchal form of society in some parts. This problem is perhaps not prevalent among the lowest strata of the society and as a result both forms of children are welcome as both are capable of hard physical labour. The solution to this problem is in your exhorting both boys and girls to not to be a part of the dowry system and both parties sharing equally the marriage expenses. If and when this can happen, the parents will stop dreading the birth of a girl child. I along with my family pledge our support to this fight which you have taken up on behalf of the society.

I request you to please translate the episodes of satyamev jayate in regional languages like Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam etc so that people who don’t understand Hindi can also know and can fight against such burning issues happening around them.
I am strongly with you on the formation of fast track courts to fight against such social evils instantly.

well done Aamirkhan.i suggest to wright a letter to the chief justice of the superime court also.so that the judge can direct the Rajasthan state govt.to create fast treck courts within time limit.

I m completely agree and obliged to Amir that he raised such a burning issue which, if not procured now, may lead india towards humanity loss which in turn a major loss as compared to financial loss. Amir….hats off to you and Reliance foundation.
Here i would like to state that government of Rajasthan , if still not able to take action against those doctors then shame on such govt and such public leaders.
I wish same successive episodes of SJ and successive growth of Our India vis-a-vis.

I wil not say that this show was very good and heart touching. Infact Aapne ek aisi sachhai hamare samne rakhi hai Jise jante to sab the lekin samne se us pe koi vaar nahi kar paya. Satyamevjayate ab umeed ki nayi Kiran laya hai. Ab hum taiyaar hai aap ka saath dene ke liye. pls go ahead. hum kanya bhrun hatya ke khilaf poori tarah se aapke aur aapki team ke sath hai.
