Will Aishwarya Rai Bachchan be back at work by Jan 2012?

Most B-town actor mommies have got back into fabulous shape within months of delivering their babies and returned to showbiz. We have an inkling that the Bachchan bahu will follow suit…

The entire hullabaloo over Ash-Abhi’s first baby can be put to rest as the Bachchan bahu finally gave birth to a baby girl this morning. Given the parentage, we are sure Baby B will develop into quite a stunner! Obviously we can’t wait to get a glimpse of the tot, but we are certain it’s going to be a long wait before our wish comes true, especially considering how protective the khandaan is about personal matters. And speaking of mommy Aishwarya, now that the baby has arrived, we are curious to know how long she will be on maternity leave. In our fairly ordinary non-filmi world, most working women go back to work within a couple of months of the baby being born. Not everyone has the luxury of staying home and not worrying about the real world, like the star actor-turned-new-mommy. We told you how when Ash’s pregnancy became public knowledge, a lot of filmmakers walked away from her for the fear of having a pregnant woman on the sets and having shoots interrupted. Remember Madhur Bhandarkar huffed and puffed about the sudden announcement, and the fact that the actor was jeopardising his ambitious project, Heroine? So now, if like so many B-town actor-mommies – Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Sridevi, Chitrangda Singh and item queen Malaika Arora Khan, for instance – Ash beats the pregnancy bulge and returns to her svelte self by the start of 2012, we hope Madhur doesn’t regret the drama and the various decisions he made regarding Heroine, from bringing back Kareena Kapoor as his lead to muttering nasty thoughts about the the younger Mrs B. Fortunately for Ash, Bollywood no longer shies away from married stars and doesn’t mind mummies, as long as they are yummy, so there should be ample scope for her as a star.
