The Zee TV show is scheduled to go on air on September 8 at the same time as Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate
The makers hope to catch the attention of families with their new venture Buddha by airing it on Sunday at 11am. Incidentally, Aamir Khan also used the same time slot to air his talk show, which we believe worked wonders for him. However, Buddha is not a talk show, it’s a historical drama based on the story of Prince Siddharth’s journey to enlightenment.
If you ask us, without any bias we can say the show will be unique, but drawing audience will be a tough job. Off late, mythological shows have been creating a new niche in the market of daily soaps – Devon Ke Dev Mahadev is the apt example for this genre. Now we know the story of Buddha may interest a lot of people, but the number will still be lesser in comparison to the viewers of any other soap. Maybe, that’s exactly the intention of the makers to capture only a small segment and create a bigger impact.
Well only time will tell if their strategy worked for better or worse, right BollywoodLifers?
