Will Karan Johar do justice to a role meant for Naseeruddin Shah?

After doing a cameo in the 1995 classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, KJo will be back on the silver screen with Bombay Velvet

Karan Johar has faced the camera many times, but with Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, the talented director-producer has gone one step further. The Dharma Productions head honcho will play a baddie in the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer Bombay Velvet. The role was initially etched for veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, but he took so long to get back to Anurag that someone else had to be found. And that’s how Karan Johar landed the part.

The character was written keeping Naseeruddin Shah in mind, so Anurag altered it a bit to suit Karan’s personality. Though KJo will be stepping into Naseer’s shoes, we wonder if he will do justice to the role – we hear this one is a baddie with shades of gay. But it seems that Anurag believes in KJo and that’s the reason he offered the role to his fellow filmmaker, wethinks.

While we hope the Gangs Of Wasseypur director doesn’t regret his decision, you tell us: Will Karan Johar successfully step into the shoes originally made for Naseeruddin Shah?
