Following the success of his latest espionage thriller D-Day, the producers – Ghai and Salman Khan has roped in Advani to direct his much talked about remake

After bagging critical acclaim and accolades for his Irrfan Khan-Arjun Rampal- Rishi Kapoor starrer D-Day, Nikhil Advani has been going great guns! Advani’s storytelling style and screenplay has certainly won him appreciation from his B-town folks, especially from producers – Subhash Ghai and Salman Khan, who have entrusted him the task of remaking Ghai’s 1983 musical blockbuster – the Jackie Shroff-Meenakshi Sheshadri starrer Hero.

From what we hear, the Kal Ho Naa Ho director plans to rewrite the entire script and characters to suit the definitions of present day love courtship and elopement. Since the original film was known for its brilliant soundtrack and considered as one of the key elements accounted for the film’s success, courtesy the formidable composer duo – Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Nikhil has decided on a fresh approach to his reformed version starring Suraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty as modern day Jackie-Meenakshi. Our khabroo says the filmmaker might retain few songs from the original including the title track – Tu mera hero hai, Pyaar karne waale kabhi darte nahin and Nindiya se jaagi bahaar.

Reportedly, Suraj’s character will be more edgy and dark whereas Athiya is likely to play a girl next door. Though NA’s track record hasn’t been too impressive, his Shahrukh Khan-Preity Zinta- Saif Ali Khan starrer love triangle proved what he’s capable of as a filmmaker. And with Salman Khan’s backing as a producer, he need not worry at all… unless Khan doesn’t call the shots, right Nikhil?Subscribe to me on YouTube
