After making his mark in Bollywood, the Housefull 2 actor is now ready to conquer Marathi cinema. While he has produced two hit Marathi films – Balak Palak and Yellow, will Riteish manage to get cash registers jingling as an actor? Let’s find out…
Riteish Deshmukh is on a roll this year. His comic caper Humshakals released last month and though it failed to impress the critics, the multi-starrer managed to rake in good moolah. Then came Mohit Suri’s much-awaited film Ek Villain. The romantic thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish in the lead roles not only got a thumbs up from the critics, but also created hungama at the ticket windows. In fact, many believed Suri’s directorial venture belonged to Genelia D’souza’s hubby dearest courtesy his impeccable performance. With his next film Lai Bhaari, Riteish will make his acting debut in Marathi cinema. This out-an-out action entertainer is directed by National Award winning filmmaker Nishikant Kamat is all set to hit the theatres tomorrow. But the big question is – will the Ek Villain Riteish taste success in his Marathi acting debut?
Going by RD’s recent track record wethinks Lai Bhaari should appeal to the audience. It’s a massy genre and going by the trailer Riteish seems to have nailed the action avatar. And Nishikant Kamat has also proved his mettle as an director time and again. Not to forget, Salman Khan is also making his Marathi debut with this film. Yes, he is doing a small cameo but the superstar is a undoubtedly a crowd puller, hai na?
So far things have being going great for Riteish Deshmukh professionally. And if Humshakals can rake in good money there is no reason why Lai Bhaari shouldn’t. Right Bollywoodlifers?
