The buzz doing the rounds these days is that Salman Khan is Bollywood’s answer to south superstar Rajinikanth. Upping the ante, we heard that actor-turned-producer Atul Agnihotri is now working on a biopic on the Robot hero. “There is a huge responsibility involved in making a film on Rajinikanth. We need his approval and contribution. Making a film on him will be an enriching experience for us. Certain commerce is involved in filmmaking; so we are working out the logistics,” Atul told IANS in an interview. Salman’s camp is known to give opportunities to new talent and this time it is Atul’s friend, ad filmmaker Lloyd Ba Pista, who will make his directorial debut with the film. Actually it was Lloyd’s idea to make a Rajinikanth biopic and Atul said he will be assisting his friend on this ambitious project, if it takes off. As the film is still in the writing phase, Atul said, “We don’t know. We are working out and it would be great if he (Salman) becomes part of it in any which way. Let’s see, Lloyd is still working on the script and going back and forth. He is consulting people. Let him revert back to me; then we will take it forward.” We are waiting to hear from Rajini fans, hopefully they will not take offense at this. And if Salman acts the part of Rajini, will that be a battle of the biggies or a perfect match?
