The Rangeela babe, who is wearing the hat of a judge for Zee Marathi’s Dance Maharashtra Dance, is looking for an exciting project to make a comeback
We cornered Urmila Matondkar on the sets of Zee Marathi’s dance reality show Dance Maharashtra Dance. The 38-year-old star has been missing from the big screen lately, but she’s making her sizzling presence felt on the small screen. What is it about television that gets the Matondkar babe excited? “I love dance. It’s something that I am known for besides my acting. It gives me an adrenaline rush. Also when you are judging somebody’s performance, your personality traits come into play. It’s a responsibility on my tiny shoulders, but I have to prod the contestants and give them a push to take their talent to the next level.”
Urmila has been out of action for quite some time now. One of the best acting talents of Bollywood, she was last seen in Himesh Reshammiya’s 2008 thriller Karzzzz. It’s been a good four years since that film released and now the feisty gal is gearing up to make a comeback. She agrees that this an exciting time to be in the Indian film industry when different subjects are being handled by some path-breaking directors and the world is looking at our movies with curiosity. “I need something that can get me out of the hibernation and get me back to where I belong. But I don’t want the regular run of the mill stuff. There needs to be something stimulating, the entire package has to be thrilling enough. I am glad that new filmmakers are making different films and experimenting a lot. I have played different characters throughout my career as an actor. So I am waiting for a super thrilling project to come along,” she concluded.
